Moda Living has released the first images of its new Moda, Hove Central residential scheme in Brighton.

The neighbourhood will offer 824 rental homes – 564 of which will be build-to-rent apartments – across six buildings. More than 60% of the 8.8-acre Fitwel accredited site, which is situated within the historical Hove Station Quarter, will be given over to public realm.

Moda, Hove Central will also offer a concierge, 24/7 gym, communal lounges and co-working spaces, cycle cafés, as well as 260 community care homes.

Tony Brooks, managing director at Moda Living, said: “Our vision for Moda, Hove Central is a vibrant and inclusive community that will be a great place to live, work and relax. These new images give a real glimpse into the wellbeing-orientated life people can expect from this neighbourhood as we deliver our aim of creating the happiest and healthiest communities in the UK – something we’re being globally recognised for through our Fitwel accreditations.

“Our approach is all about creating meaningful and engaged communities within our neighbourhoods, whilst also integrating our neighbourhoods into the communities they serve and become a part of so that they benefit the wider population – social sustainability is just as important as environmental sustainability. Hove is already an incredible community, and we aim to be a welcome addition to it.”

Bella Sankey, leader of Brighton and Hove City Council, added: “It’s fantastic to see much-needed new homes taking shape in the heart of Brighton and Hove. We need decent and comfortable new homes in our city, especially for our key-workers, families, singles, our young and old. We also need investment in our public realm and so I am pleased that Moda are creating amenities and artwork for all to enjoy.

“The build-to-rent model is an important part of our housing mix and we want our residents to have stability and continuity in their rental agreements. We also need to drive up standards in our city and Moda’s creation of good quality homes with excellent facilities and services will play a part in that.”

Peter Kyle, MP for Hove and Portslade, said: “Long before work even began on Moda, Hove Central, Moda had proven its commitment to embedding itself in the Hove community and delivering a landmark new neighbourhood that will benefit all of Hove. It’s fantastic to see the new homes and public realm taking shape and we look forward to continuing to work with Moda for many years to come as it welcomes new residents to the area and runs this valuable new community for the long term.”
