Landmark Properties has submitted plans for a circa 500-bed purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme at 120 Suffolk Street in Birmingham.
The site, which is located adjacent to the Mailbox, is currently used as a car park. Planning consent for a redevelopment of the site was previously granted in 2023.
The Birmingham development, which was designed by Glancy Nicholls Architects, is the first of several new schemes Landmark is due to secure over the last 12 months.
Tristram Taylor, from Landmark Properties, said: “120 Suffolk Street represents our strong investment appetite and thoughtful project delivery plans. Our approach seeks to enhance the city council’s existing vision for the area by responding directly to the undersupply of student accommodation across Birmingham. Working with our local team, we have engaged constructively through the pre-application process with Birmingham City Council and statutory consultees. Subject to achieving a planning consent in the coming months, we are looking forward to kick-starting construction and delivery as soon as possible thereafter.”
The planning application was supported by Williams Gallagher, Node, Pareto, Core 5 and Flow Design Architects.
