BE News is delighted to announce that Professor Jacopo Torriti will be delivering the keynote speech at the BE News Spotlight on Power event on Tuesday 11 November.
Organised by BE News, the only quality, free-to-use news service that covers the entire built environment industry, the free-to-attend event is sponsored by SEGRO and Greenvolt Next UK and will take place between 5pm and 7.30pm at host Avison Young’s office at The Met, 24 Percy St, London W1T 2BS.
The event, which will explore ‘The Industry’s Greatest Challenge… and Opportunity’, will be attended by up to 80 senior figures and decision makers from across the built environment and energy industries and public sector.
In his keynote speech, the professor of energy economics and policy at the School of the Built Environment, University of Reading, will draw on his experience as flexibility theme lead of the Energy Demand Research Centre, member of Ofgem DSO Evaluation Panel and member of the Panel of Technical Experts of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
His speech will be followed by a one-hour Question Time-style panel debate, which will be moderated by BE News editor-in-chief Liz Hamson and feature panellists including: Dave Brend, energy director at SEGRO; Owen Power, CEO of Greenvolt Next UK; Chris Wright, head of sustainability and decarbonisation at Avison Young; Phil Roe, president of Logistics UK; Isabel Fuell, vice president of operations strategy & expansion at Hived; and Genna Boyle, CCO and head of EMEA at Gridcog.
During the event, we will delve into issues ranging from the impact of electrification, net-zero targets and phasing out of fossil fuels to how to deal with soaring demand from power-hungry sectors such as data centres, the roles of renewable and clean energy and how to modernise the grid.
Following the debate, attendees will have the chance to network with some of the most dynamic figures from across the built environment and energy industries.
