Health and wellbeing resort operator Champneys has secured a £32m facility from Cheyne Capital to support the next phase of the brand’s investment and expansion plans.
Champneys will use the facility to refurbish and upgrade all bedrooms and public areas across its portfolio of four spa resorts and two spa hotels.
The funding will also enable further enhancements to the brand’s spa and wellness facilities, food and beverage concepts and landscaping.
Alan Whiteley, chief executive officer of Champneys, said: “We’re delighted to deepen our partnership with Cheyne Capital in what is an important next chapter for Champneys. This renewed investment allows us to build on the legacy of Dorothy Purdew OBE and her son Stephen Purdew and continue modernising our resorts, investing in our people, and improving every guest experience while staying true to our heritage. With Cheyne’s long-term support, we can protect our historic properties, strengthen our brand, and expand responsibly – ensuring Champneys continues to set the benchmark for British wellness for the next 100 years.”
Theo Hajoglou, director at Cheyne Capital, added: “Our extended partnership with Champneys underscores our conviction in the strength of the business, its management team, and the enduring appeal of the wellness sector. This latest investment will enable the company to accelerate its growth strategy, enhance its estate and continue setting the standard for premium health and wellbeing experiences.”
