The freehold interest in a 24,240 sq ft warehouse at Silkstone Court, Dodworth, Barnsley, has been put up for sale.

The modern, detached Unit 2 features 7.5m eaves, two loading doors and a two-storey office and welfare section. In addition, it has a large secure yard area with a separate car park.

Rob Oliver, principal in the industrial and distribution team at Avison Young, which alongside GV&Co has been appointed to market the opportunity, said: “We are seeing increasing demand for freehold premises at the current time from both owner occupiers, and indeed investors. There has been a real shortage of opportunities to acquire modern or new freehold premises recently, and so we aren’t surprised to have already received expressions of interest.”

Dan Walker, director at GV&Co, added: “This unit is on an established industrial estate within a mile of Junction 37 of the M1, and so is very well placed to serve not just the Barnsley area, but Wakefield is close to the north, and Sheffield and Rotherham are easily accessible to the south.”
