Syntech Biofuel has secured planning consent for the expansion of its sustainable energy operations at Kingsnorth Industrial Estate in Rochester.
The approved development will comprise a new 1,600 sq m (circa 17,000 sq ft) production building and associated infrastructure to support the manufacturing of Syntech’s advanced smart biofuel on a 1.05-hectare site.
Designed by Out the Box Architecture, the facility will allow the company to increase production capacity and expand its research and development capability at Kingsnorth.
Andy Somerville, director at Nexus Planning, which advised Syntech Biofuel on the planning application, said: “We’re delighted to have secured planning permission for this forward-thinking development, which reflects the growing importance of renewable fuel technologies to the UK’s low carbon economy.
