Everyman Cinema has signed a 25-year lease for a 15,000 sq ft cinema spanning the ground floor and two basement levels at MARK and CC Land’s £1bn redevelopment of the former Whiteley department store in London.

The Whiteley will offer 1.1m sq ft of space, including retail, restaurants and cafés, a Six Senses hotel and spa and 139 high specification residences.

Marcus Meijer, founder and CEO of MARK, said: “Our vision for The Whiteley, and the wider Queensway neighbourhood, is to deliver beautiful buildings with an exciting mix of brands that will enhance the area. By welcoming Everyman at The Whiteley, we are continuing to build a destination within London that offers something for everyone.

“We pride ourselves on establishing genuine, long-term relationships with the retail and lifestyle partners in our developments, which is why we have welcomed Everyman to both Borough Yards and The Whiteley, where they will be a key part of the lifestyle offering.”

Alex Scrimgeour, CEO at Everyman Media Group, added: “We’re thrilled to announce that we will be launching a new Everyman venue in London as part of the The Whiteley development in Bayswater. We are looking forward to seeing this development come to life in such an iconic part of the capital.”

Alex Michelin, co-founder of Finchatton, development manager of The Whiteley, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Everyman to The Whiteley. Our vision for the area will see some of the most exciting new and established brands making their home in Queensway, marking a new lease of life for this beloved and iconic building to be enjoyed by residents, visitors and locals alike. We can’t wait for the doors to open and welcome cinema lovers back to The Whiteley.”
