Peel Ports Group (PPG) has added Mace as a new supplier to its project management and quantity surveying services framework.

The appointment will see Mace’s Consult arm provide project and commercial management services to PPG, which owns and operates six UK ports in addition to a container terminal in Dublin.

PPG intends to spend £200m on sustainable infrastructure over the next 12 months and the Mace team will play a key role in helping to deliver improvements to the port group’s sites.

Sean Gray, director of transportation at Mace Consult, said: “As a new entrant onto the framework, we’re looking forward to bringing original ideas, experience and capabilities to PPG’s exciting programme of investment over the next eight years. Ports blend local benefits with global growth; add ambitious carbon reduction targets and an intelligent approach to infrastructure improvement, the legacy potential of this programme is clear. We can’t wait to begin delivering on the ground.”

Lewis McIntyre, managing director – port services, at Peel Ports Group, added: “Mace’s global track record in delivering major infrastructure programmes across a range of sectors makes them an excellent addition to our supplier framework. As well as the technical experience and expertise Mace’s people will bring, shared values on important topics like carbon reduction and legacy will only help us as we deliver our multimillion-pound investment programme.”
