Sama Investments has received planning permission for a residential and student accommodation scheme on a brownfield site in Birmingham’s Digbeth Quarter.
The Garrison Circus development, which has been designed by architects tp bennett, will deliver more than 546 new homes and 710 student beds on a vacant site.
The Myona Building, which was formerly home to Jacobs Biscuits, will be retained and converted into flexible amenity space and the development will also feature a 37-storey building.
Paul Squire, chief executive at Sama Investments, said: “Garrison Circus will transform an underutilised brownfield site to unlock a new gateway into Digbeth, whilst also supporting the wider regeneration of the area. Not only will we deliver much-needed new homes and support the vibrancy of nearby universities, but our plans offer street-level community uses and green space for existing residents in the area to enjoy.
