Manner’s plans to redevelop the iconic The Hotspur Press in Manchester have been given the green light by planners.
Manchester City Council’s planning committee unanimously approved the developer’s plans to convert the building into a 595-bed student accommodation scheme.
The redevelopment will preserve much of the building’s existing brick exterior and restore its historic facade. The scheme will also feature a 37-storey tower, a new public square and public realm improvements.
Manner is now actively looking for independent operators to occupy the building’s ground floor commercial space.

Construction is anticipated to get fully underway in early 2025, with completion due for the 2028 academic year.
