Plus Dane Housing has acquired the former HQ of Johnsons the Cleaners in Bootle from Liverpool-based Ascot Group for an undisclosed price.
It is understood the housing association is working up plans to deliver 104 new homes on the historic dry-cleaning and dye works site. The circa £22m GDV housing scheme will be partially funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Homes England.
Ascot Group purchased the 5-acre site on Mildmay Road in 2017, following the extensive remediation of the land.
A spokesperson for Ascot Group said: “This is a substantial deal for Bootle and Plus Dane’s plans will add real value to the neighbourhood. Over the past few years we have been involved in a number multi-million pound social housing developments across Cheshire and Merseyside and we’re pleased to have facilitated this latest deal.”
MSB solicitors advised Ascot Group and Trowers & Hamlin advised Plus Dane Housing.
