Pan-European real estate investment company Europa has bolstered its team with two new hires.
James Hanks (pictured) has joined Europa from Goldman Sachs as head of tax. At Goldman, he was a vice-president in the EMEA tax advisory team and was the EMEA tax lead for European real estate matters within the asset management division. Prior to this, he spent six years at EY in assurance and the international tax services division.
In the newly created head of tax role, Hanks will have responsibility for overseeing all of Europa’s tax operations, including managing reporting and providing strategic tax guidance for all fund entities and client investment funds.
Europa has also hired Lenka Sargon as senior fund controller from AEW Europe. Sargon has more than 15 years’ experience in accounting roles at companies including PATRIZIA.
In her new role, she will be responsible for supervising Europa’s financial operations, managing financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance for Europa’s real estate investment funds.
