Avant Homes North Yorkshire has partnered with the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) to deliver 69 new and affordable homes across two different sites in Yorkshire.
The homes will be built at Greensward Point in Easingwold and Greenlock Place in Leeds.
At Greensward Point, Avant Homes will deliver a mix of two- and three-bedroom detached and semi-detached properties. The first 12 homes have already been handed over to the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, with the remaining 22 homes expected to be completed by summer 2025.
At Greenlock Place, Avant Homes will build a series of one- and two-bedrooms flats in addition to two- and three-bedroom semi-detached properties. All of the homes are anticipated to be ready by summer 2025.
JRHT will offer the homes at both sites through social rent or the trust’s shared ownership programme.
Phil Lacey, group head of affordable housing delivery at Avant Homes, said: “We are very pleased to have secured our first deal with Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust on our already successful Greensward Point and Greenlock Place developments. Both are popular places to live, and our energy efficient properties provide the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust with a range of new affordable homes which give more people the opportunity to live within new and already thriving communities.
“We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust so that we can deliver our vision of providing quality homes, for everyone.”
Chris Simpson, executive director at Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, added: “Good quality homes enhance our lives and support our health. Everyone in the UK should have access to an affordable and safe home. Partnering with Avant Homes helps us to provide more affordable homes to those in the greatest need, contributing to our goal of providing 1,000 new and affordable homes by 2029.”
