Bargate Homes and parent company VIVID Homes have acquired a 4.2-acre residential development site in Whiteparish, south Wiltshire.

Bargate has appointed architect Cooper Baillie to undertake the detailed design for the scheme, which has planning for 25 family homes.

The development will incorporate a range of executive homes, seven affordable dwellings and three further plots to be sold as first homes.

A reserved matters planning application for the development will be submitted to Wiltshire Council next year.

Steve Birch, land and planning director at Bargate Homes, said: “It has been a decade since Bargate Homes last delivered new homes in Wiltshire. Acquiring such a special site in Whiteparish – which offers glorious countryside views and footpaths leading through to the New Forest – is very exciting.

“There is significant pent-up demand for energy-efficient family homes within this ‘Best Kept Village’ which benefits from a sustainable and accessible location between Salisbury and Romsey. We are looking forward to working up the detailed house designs which will complement and add to the appeal of the village, parts of which date back to the 12th century.”
