The Hill Group has secured planning permission for the third and final phase of its Marleigh residential neighbourhood on the eastern edge of Cambridge.

The housebuilder has been given the green light to deliver a further 423 new homes, bringing the total number of homes at the development to 1,391.

The final phase of Marleigh will comprise a mix of apartments, terraced homes, semi-detached and detached houses, which will be available for private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent.

Andy Hill OBE, founder and group chief executive of The Hill Group, said: “We are pleased with the positive outcome for the final phase of Marleigh, marking the culmination of our vision for a vibrant and inclusive urban village in Cambridge East. Since starting work onsite in 2018, we’ve built not just homes but a thriving community, complete with a popular primary school and village centre. Phase three continues our commitment to delivering a range of energy efficient, high-quality homes with something for everyone.”

Ian Fenn, partner at the scheme’s architects JTP, added: “This planning approval is a pivotal moment for Marleigh and a testament to the collaboration between JTP and The Hill Group. Together we’ve created a design-led community where green open spaces are paramount.”
