Vistry Group has acquired a site in Rotherham from Harworth Group for an undisclosed price with a view to delivering 149 new homes.
The land parcel benefits from detailed planning consent and is located in Waverley, one of the largest mixed-use regeneration schemes in Yorkshire. Harworth is leading the delivery of Waverley, which once complete will provide more than 3,000 new homes, an advanced manufacturing park and a mix of community uses.
Vistry expects to provide 50% of the new homes built on site in affordable tenures and work is expected to begin on site this year with an estimated completion by December 2027.
Andrew Poyner, managing director of Vistry West Yorkshire, said: “We’ve worked closely with Harworth Group to understand their vision for Waverley, which is one of the UK’s most ambitious brownfield regeneration projects. We’re delighted to be contributing to the overall vision for the site and we will be working in partnership with an affordable housing partner in due course.”
