Hallam Land has received outline planning consent on appeal for the delivery of 112 homes on a site in Yadling, Maidstone, in Kent.
The land promotion and planning business of Henry Boot acquired the 23-acre site in 2018. The site was later included in the emerging local plan, and in November 2023, Hallam submitted an outline planning application in line with this allocation.
Despite Maidstone Borough Council adopting its local plan in March 2024, it did not make a decision on the application. Hallam appealed in May 2024 on the basis of non-determination and successfully secured approval.
Tim Roberts, CEO of Henry Boot, said: “This planning consent paves the way for much needed homes in the South East region and is expected to generate strong interest from national housebuilders which would translate into a significant transaction for the group this year. It also reinforces our ability to unlock valuable land for residential development across the country.”
