Meanwhile Creative has submitted a planning application to create meanwhile shopping space at St Saviours Yard at Anglia Square in Norwich.
The proposals will see a ’box park’ comprising 80 shopping containers introduced to the site to provide flexible, affordable and practical spaces tailored to the needs of small businesses, freelancers, traders and creatives.
The local authority expects former traders from Anglia Square and new businesses to set up shop at the site in the St Magdalen Street car park.
Carli Harper, cabinet member for major projects at Norwich City Council, said: “We hope St Saviours Yard will become a go to shopping destination and business hub, while we crack on and redevelop Anglia Square. Our ambition is for St Saviours Yard to become a thriving, eclectic shopping and business attraction rivalling similar sites in Shoreditch, Manchester or Bristol.”
