Manchester-based developer Progressive Living has secured planning consent for a £70m residential development in Stockport town centre.
The scheme will transform the site of the derelict Victoria House office building and the adjacent Fletcher Street surface car park into 245 high quality, sustainably designed apartments spread across two buildings of eight to 20 storeys.
The development will deliver a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes, designed in line with Passivhaus low energy principles.

Micheala Meikle, cabinet member for economy, regeneration and skills at Stockport Council, added: “This is another important step in transforming Stockport as part of the UK’s biggest town centre regeneration. The project team includes AEW Architects, Re-Form, Renaissance, Zerum, OFR, GIA, Novo, Our Studio, Jameson Acoustics, SK Transport, Turley, Oxford Archaeology and Euan Kellie Property Solutions, which submitted the application.
