The Church Commissioners for England has submitted an outline planning application for the second phase of a residential development in Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
Consent has already been secured for the first phase of 109 homes, and under the newly submitted plans, a new neighbourhood of up to 484 homes with a primary school and local centre will be created on a 25.8-hectare site.
The second phase will provide a range of housing, from detached family homes to one-person apartments, 30% of which will be affordable.
Matthew Naylor, team head, strategic land at the Church Commissioners for England, said: “The second phase at Northallerton seeks to further alleviate unmet demand for housing in this historic market town. By blending community and educational facilities, sensitive design that promotes enjoyment of nature, and a genuine mix of housing tenures and types, we hope to create an inclusive, cross-generational community that will serve its residents well into the future.”
