Dandara has secured planning consent to deliver 272 new homes in Great Dunmow, west Essex.

The development will comprise 109 affordable properties, 98 private homes and 65 private rented sector units.

Andrew Wickett, managing director for Dandara Eastern, said: “This approval is an important moment not only for Great Dunmow but for the wider Eastern region. We’re operating in one of the fastest-growing economic corridors in the UK. With Cambridge often referred to as the country’s Silicon Valley and major employment growth forecast along the Arc, communities across Essex and Hertfordshire are feeling the pressure of limited housing supply.

“Creating a mix of private, affordable and PRS homes means we can meet the needs of a far broader range of people, from young professionals to growing families and older residents looking to stay in the area. Great Dunmow has a strong local identity and a thriving high street, and we’re proud to be contributing to its future in a way that supports long-term regional prosperity.”
