Thakeham has agreed a deal to deliver 84 affordable homes at St Mary’s in Midanbury Lane, Southampton, on behalf of housing association SNG (Sovereign Network Group).
The homes will comprise a mix of 42 social rent homes available for people on Southampton City Council’s housing register and 42 shared ownership homes. The scheme will also include parking, landscaping and play areas.
Daniel Cornelius, partnerships director at Thakeham, said: “We are pleased to be working with our partners, SNG, on another exciting project together to deliver 84 high quality homes in Southampton. This scheme will provide an opportunity for local people to remain or settle in the area and will be built with the community in mind.”
Jenny Grote, land and new business director – south, at SNG, added: “We’re really excited to be starting on site in the next few months on this fantastic scheme which will deliver good, affordable homes. There is currently a wait of more than 10 years for a family house in Southampton, so this development will provide a much‑needed boost to the city’s supply of affordable homes.”
