Brymbo Developments, a subsidiary of the Parkhill Group, has let a  5,000 sq ft site at the Brymbo Park development near Wrexham to Sainsbury’s.

The new store, which is due to open in 2027, forms part of the wider residential-led masterplan for the Brymbo Park regeneration project, on the site of the former Brymbo Steel Works.

James Cannon, head of property at Parkhill Estates, said: “Having now unlocked phase two of the development, we are pleased to enter into an agreement with Sainsbury’s to deliver its store. The aim from the outset was to deliver a mixed-use, sustainable development and we see Sainsbury’s as integral to that plan”.

Jonathan Arthur, head of convenience property development at Sainsbury’s, added: “We’re currently investing in new sites to make good food more accessible for many more people across the UK. We’re excited to be working with Parkhill Estates to form part of the new Brymbo town centre – we’re looking forward to giving the new community a convenient place to shop on its doorstep, creating jobs for local people in the process.”
