Renaiss Health has secured planning consent for a new state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation and recovery centre in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

The centre will provide tailored programmes of physical rehabilitation to support those recovering from orthopaedic surgery or trauma.

The approved scheme will see the existing redundant buildings on the site demolished and replaced by a new purpose-built facility, featuring a dedicated physiotherapy suite, hydrotherapy pool, 55-ensuite bedrooms and high quality hospitality spaces, including a restaurant and lounge.

Jennifer Martin, CEO of Renaiss Health, said: “We are delighted to receive planning approval for our new Tunbridge Wells centre. This facility is an important milestone in our mission to deliver high quality, specialist rehabilitation services tailored to support client recovery, wellbeing and independent living. We look forward to working with the community as we move into the next phase of development and onwards into operations.”

Mary Hutchison, associate director at PRP, added: “It has been an exciting journey designing this new facility with Renaiss Health and we are so pleased to have now secured planning approval. The proposals provide a modern and sustainable facility that will fully support Renaiss Health in delivering exceptional physical rehabilitation services. This development will be a valued asset to Tunbridge Wells, combining architectural excellence with social benefit.”

Celia Harrison, investment director at Bridges, said: “As the UK population ages, there will be growing demand for physical rehabilitation and care – which can lead to better health outcomes, particularly post-surgery. Renaiss Tunbridge Wells will help to address this unmet need in Kent and further afield. It’s a great example of Bridges’ commitment to investing in real estate operating businesses that can help to tackle some of society’s biggest challenges.”
