Cameron Homes has acquired a 17.2-acre development site in Redhill, Nottinghamshire, on which it intends to deliver 144 new homes.

The £40m Hawksley Rise scheme, which has full planning consent, will provide a mix of one-, two, three- and four-bedroom family homes, 21 of which are allocated for affordable housing. The site is located close to the market town of Arnold, five miles from Nottingham city centre.

John Hickman, group land director for Tara Group and Cameron Homes, said: “By volume, this is one of the largest development opportunities we’ve ever acquired in a single phase. Delivering 144 homes on this prestige 17.2-acre site in Redhill will really cement our brand across Nottinghamshire, especially as we are also part-way through the construction of 57 family homes two miles away at Mapperley Meadows.

“With our sister company Chasetown Civil Engineering making an immediate start to the groundworks – to prepare the site for construction – we’re pleased to be able to work to an accelerated project delivery plan. We hope to unveil an on-site show home in 12 months’ time.”

William Cox, lead director for residential in JLL’s Birmingham office, which acted for the landowner on the deal, added: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Cameron Homes on this land deal, which will see this prime site in Redhill brought forward for much needed family and affordable housing. On completion, the development will also benefit from 5.6 acres of new public open space, including a children’s play area, which will provide a new community asset to Redhill.”
