A joint venture between Countryside (part of Vistry) and L&Q have secured planning consent for zone two of the Chelmsford Garden Community development, which will see up to 3,500 new homes built.
The mixed-use neighbourhood will also feature a wide range of essential infrastructure including schools, healthcare facilities, employment space, local centres and extensive green infrastructure.
When it is fully built out the scheme, which has been designed in line with garden city principles, will provide around 10,000 homes.
