Real estate investment manager Newcore Capital believes its CEO Hugo Llewelyn may have set a new Guinness World Record* for the longest on-foot property asset inspection in a single day, as part of a fundraising initiative for homeless charity St Mungo’s.
On Friday 21 August, Llewelyn set out from Edgware early in the morning and walked 75km across London to visit 17 of Newcore’s investments in the capital.
Different members of the Newcore team joined him on each leg of the journey, which ended in Ealing later in the evening. Llewelyn’s efforts raised more than £45,000 for St Mungo’s thanks to the support of friends of the business and the matching contribution of The Newcore Foundation.
Since 2011, Newcore and its partners have donated more than £1m to more than 25 charities, including the Clink Charity, Aspire, LandAid, Surfers Against Sewage, The Rivers Trust and St Mungos. St Mungos works directly with people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, and last year, the charity helped more than 26,000 people across 138 services.
