Bruntwood SciTech has unveiled plans to upgrade more than 22,000 sq ft of workspace at Melbourn Science Park.
The £11m programme of investment will see Ash House offer workspace and R&D lab suites of up to 4,500 sq ft, available in shell, open-plan or fitted and furnished formats, with 19,000 sq ft of workspace and R&D space available as CAT A open-plan, fitted or fitted and furnished suites, delivered at Beech House.
As well as investing in the workspace, Bruntwood SciTech is planning significant improvements to the park’s public domain, including enhanced landscaping and EV charging infrastructure. A new gym will also be created on the ground floor of Glade House.
As part of the investment programme, several buildings at the park will be renamed. Building F will become Field House, Building G will become Glade House and Building H will become Hazel House, with Talking Point renamed Linden Suites.
Mark Julian, associate director for commercial at Bruntwood SciTech – a joint venture between Bruntwood, L&G and Greater Manchester Pension Fund – said: “Innovation doesn’t belong to one sector. The businesses developing new ideas, products and technologies today span everything from engineering and digital to research, technology and beyond, and we want Melbourn Science Park to be a place where all of those ambitious businesses can find the space and support they need to grow.
“We’re building on the park’s established heritage while opening its next chapter to invite even more innovation-led businesses into our community and make our mark within the golden triangle. What unites them is a desire to innovate and grow and our role is to create the environment and ecosystem that helps them do that.’’
