BARJANE has submitted plans for a circa 420,000 sq ft warehouse for DHL Supply Chain near Junction 2 of the M6 and M69.
The development site is located adjacent to the approved Frasers Group Campus and will be accessed by a proposed new roundabout.
The landscape-led design of the scheme enables approximately 5.25 hectares (41%) of the site to be provided as soft landscape, including planting, ecological habitats, sustainable drainage and amenity space.
Patrick Batten, BARJANE’s UK commercial director, said: “This landscape-led development that has been sensitively designed to respond to the site’s local context whilst fulfilling DHL’s requirements. The scheme represents an exceptionally rare opportunity, directly at the intersection of two major motorways, to deliver substantial employment facilities and bring new investment to the region.”
Alex McMahon, development director of DHL Supply Chain, added: “Given the lack of suitable sites in the area, the BARJANE development represents the only realistic option for DHL to realise their growth ambitions for the expansion of Coventry Crosspoint. Should planning permission be granted, DHL would seek to commence works as a priority.”
