AEW UK REIT has posted a “robust performance” for the six months to 30 September 2022 and is “well positioned” to navigate the current market volatility. The REIT’s NAV increased by more than £2m in the reporting period and the NAV total return for the period was 4.35%,

Mark Burton, chairman of AEW UK REIT, said: “We are pleased with the robust performance of the company during the period, which reported NAV total return of 4.35%, achieved against a backdrop of economic uncertainty. We believe that the company is defensively positioned given its focus on value and having prudently fixed the cost of debt early in the period.”

He added: “The investment manager’s unconstrained sector approach and its active management style also provide a strong basis for counter-cyclical performance. Given the market volatility, the company’s high cash weighting makes it very well-positioned to select assets from the increased number of investment opportunities that are expected to present in the near future which supports our focus of returning to full investment and to full cover of the dividend over the medium term.”
