Harworth Group has sold an 8.87-acre residential development site in Birdwell, South Yorkshire, to Avant Homes for an undisclosed price.
Harworth and private landlowners sold the site, which has outline planning consent for 118 homes of which 10% will be affordable, to Avant following a competitive tender process.
Ed Catchpole, regional director for Yorkshire and central at Harworth, said: “Avant are a long-standing and valued partner of Harworth, and we are pleased to have worked with them again on this transaction. This development at Birdwell will bring much-needed new homes to the community.”
Alastair Hart, managing director of Avant Homes Yorkshire, said: “We have a long and successful track record of working in partnership with Harworth Group to acquire land in South Yorkshire. Subject to planning, our Birdwell development will allow us to deliver much needed high quality family homes for the locality whilst fulfilling our strategic growth plan of expanding our operations throughout the county.”
Steven Soper, associate in Carter Jonas’ Leeds office, which acted for Harworth on the sale and whose planning team helped secure the site’s planning consent, added: “Carter Jonas is very pleased to have achieved this sale, having provided planning services to Harworth then running a very competitive tender process. This is an ideal location for new homes, which will undoubtedly be very popular.”
