Avant Homes has sold an affordable housing development on Lingwell Gate Lane in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, to housing provider Vico Homes for £17.4m.
The scheme provides 73 homes and comprises a range of two-bedroom accessible bungalows, two- and three-bedroom semi-detached houses, and three- and four-bedroom detached properties.
The first completions at the development are expected to take place in spring next year and it is anticipated that all homes will be completed by summer 2028.
The homes will be offered to customers on a predominantly social rent basis, with some rent to buy and shared ownership homes also available.
Phil Lacey, Avant Homes Group’s head of affordable housing delivery, said: “This 100% affordable housing deal with Vico Homes reflects our commitment to delivering quality, energy efficient new homes for the people who need them most. Our multi-tenure strategy is underpinned by creating long-term partnerships with social housing providers to support in the delivery of further affordable homes.

This deal also forms an important part of our wider plans to successfully deliver more than 900 additional affordable homes across 15 developments and a further 550 Section 106 affordable homes.”
