Avant Homes West Yorkshire has submitted plans for a £20.4m multi-tenure development comprising 83 new homes in Altofts, near Normanton.

The Altofts Acres development will offer one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes – eight affordable. If the plans get the go-ahead Avant Homes hopes to make a start on site in June next year, with completion in early 2025.

Richard Hosie, managing director of Avant Homes West Yorkshire, said: “We want to provide quality new homes for everyone in popular locations where people want to live. Altofts is just such a place. It has a great sense of community and provides residents with easy access to local amenities, Wakefield city centre and the M62.

“We also know there is high demand from people living locally, or thinking of moving to the area, for the type of practically designed, energy efficient new homes that we build. Our intention is to build homes at a range of price points that will enable more people to make their next homeowning step a reality, whether a first-time buyer or a family. We now look forward to Wakefield Metropolitan Borough Council’s response to our submission.”
