Ballymore has secured planning consent for the redevelopment of the Knights Road site in the Royal Docks in Newham.

The redevelopment will transform an underutilised industrial brownfield site into a mixed-use neighbourhood featuring 1,667 homes, including affordable housing, and more than 11,000 sq m of light industrial and flexible workspace.

Designed by Allies & Morrison, the scheme will also provide more than 10,000 sq m of new public realm and 8,000 sq m of communal open space.

John Mulryan, CEO of Ballymore UK, said: “Securing consent for Knights Road is an important step in the continued evolution of the Royal Docks. Our long-term commitment to Newham is based on a stewardship approach – creating well-designed places that support both living and working, and that can contribute to the area over time. We look forward to continuing our work in the Royal Docks in partnership with the Council, local communities and local businesses to bring forward this next phase.”
