Lancashire-based Baxter Homes has submitted a planning application for a new £27m residential development at the Talbot Mill site, off Froom Street, in Chorley.
Designed by MCK Associates, the scheme will provide 126 homes and associated infrastructure on the 10.97-acre site.
The scheme will comprise a mix of two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses.
Callum Baxter, from Baxter Homes, said: “The site has a long planning history, but with the revised plans, we are looking forward to bringing the development to fruition and addressing local housing needs. In addition, we are hoping that during the construction phases, there will be an economic boost to the area by working with the local supply chain.”
Deborah Smith, from S&L Planning Consultants, which has acted as planning adviser on the scheme, added: “Talbot Mill represents a carefully considered opportunity to deliver high quality, affordable housing within a connected, sustainable urban edge of Chorley. The proposal builds on previous approvals while incorporating refinements to housing mix, layout, and enhancing deliverability and long-term community benefit.”
