Joint venture partners TOWN and The Hill Group have submitted plans for a new cohousing development at Northstowe, near Cambridge.
The proposals, designed by Mole Architects, feature two co-housing commutes side-by-side as part of a planned new town. The scheme will provide 145 homes across four compact urban buildings with 40% of the homes designated affordable.
Situated adjacent to Northstowe’s emerging town centre, nine miles from Cambridge, the new neighbourhood will include Suvana Cohousing, a community grounded in Buddhist values, and Northstowe Cohousing, a multi-generational community modelled on the Marmalade Lane cohousing neighbourhood delivered by TOWN and Mole Architects in Orchard Park.
Subject to consent, construction is expected to begin in summer 2026.
