BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Jonty Rawcliffe as ESG and sustainability lead within its UK property management team.

Rawcliffe has spent the last four years as head of natural capital in England in Strutt & Parker’s rural business. In his new role, he will work closely with European head of sustainability for property management Christophe Girard.

Steve Harber, head of property management UK at BNP Paribas Real Estate, said: “Our clients are operating in a fast-moving world where ESG, technology and flexibility are driving constant change. In his new role, Jonty will ensure we bolster our relations with our European colleagues and clients to deliver optimal building performance, with a clear focus on cost control and value, ensuring our clients’ properties and portfolios have a sustainable advantage.”

Donna Rourke, head of ESG and sustainability at BNP Paribas Real Estate, added: “Jonty’s experience coordinating different service lines to achieve strategic objectives and establish avenues to add value and maximise returns means he is perfectly positioned to advise clients to achieve their ESG goals in the most efficient and cost effective way. His new role will see him tap into our network of offices, delivering value to them that positions them for success in the markets in which they operate.”

Rawcliffe said: “Building owners are adapting to changing expectations around sustainability, social responsibility and governance, in order to stay competitive and meet the needs of occupiers, investors and local communities. With climate change and our environment becoming a mainstay of commercial discussions and considerations for clients, I am incredibly excited to be joining a team providing solutions to the challenges they face and adding value to clients’ assets through the opportunities these solutions can provide.”
