Carter Jonas recorded turnover of £85.74m in the financial year ended 30 April 2024 – up from the £84.38m it recorded in the previous financial year.
In the reporting period, the company also recorded an operating profit of £15.39m.
Richard Bruce, chief executive of Carter Jonas, said: “In the last financial year, our business, along with the wider market, faced challenging conditions due to significant uncertainty in the UK economy and the ongoing effects of inflation on operating costs. The property industry experienced notable pressures, particularly within the residential and commercial transactional markets, which saw a decline in activity. This situation was largely driven by fluctuating business confidence, affecting investment decisions.
“However, we began to see encouraging signs of recovery in the latter half of the year, and we are pleased that this positive trend is continuing. To navigate these challenges, we proactively implemented strategic measures focused on cost control and enhancing profitability. The positive results we achieved reflect the effectiveness of these strategies and the remarkable dedication and resilience of our teams across Carter Jonas. Their expertise and commitment enabled us to provide exceptional service to new and existing clients whilst building a strong foundation for future success.”
