Westminster City Council has selected Mount Anvil as preferred joint venture partner on a £275m GDV residential development near Edgware Road.
The partnership will deliver 429 new homes – 171 of which will be for social rent – a new library and library garden, high quality public realm and improved market infrastructure at the site on Church Street.
Matt Noble, cabinet minister for regeneration and renters at Westminster City Council, said: “We’ve set out on our pledge to deliver a ‘Fairer Westminster’ by our plans to improve the Church Street neighbourhood and to create new opportunities for local people. Moving forward in a joint venture partnership, means we can now take a further step towards realising this ambition on Site A.
“From building more of the affordable homes the City desperately needs to enhancing the public spaces and services which are vital for our communities, residents will continue to remain at the centre of the changes as work continues.”
The redevelopment of Sites A, B and C on Church Street will see up to 1,120 new homes developed in addition to new public realm, improved accessibility and pedestrianised routes, improved market infrastructure, as well as new retail and commercial space for the local community.
