The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has signed a pre-construction services agreement with Countryside Partnerships for the regeneration of Harriott, Apsley and Pattison House in Tower Hamlets.

The project will see 407 new homes delivered alongside a new community centre and mosque. The development will provide 64 replacement affordable homes and an additional 111 new affordable homes, the majority of which will be larger, family-sized three- and four-bedroom homes.

As preferred partner, Countryside, which is part of Vistry Group, will further progress the design of the project and prepare the site for construction.

The scheme will be delivered across two phases, with phase one due to complete in early 2028 and the scheme in its entirety due to complete at the beginning of 2031.

Lutfur Rahman, executive mayor of Tower Hamlets, said: “We are committed to creating genuinely affordable housing for our residents, and this appointment of Countryside marks an important milestone in our housing development programme as well as one of our key housing regeneration projects. We have worked with residents to bring this regeneration project together and I am optimistic that these new homes, along with vital community facilities they will bring, will improve the lives of many families in the area.”

Kevin Delve, managing director of Vistry East London, added: “Our selection as preferred partner on this major estate regeneration reflects our expertise and commitment to provide quality homes and lasting communities, and also demonstrates our exemplary track record in delivering complex regeneration schemes. Given the strong local support that the HAP regeneration enjoys, we are looking forward to delivering a scheme that meets the needs of the local community, and is the start of our successful, long-term partnership with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.”
