Downing has submitted a planning application for a new 699-unit PBSA scheme and a 91 apartment BTR development in North Acton.
The 2,235 sq m proposed development will replace the existing Holiday Inn Express located on Victoria Road, adjacent to North Action tube station.
The BREEAM Excellent-rated scheme comprises two towers rising to 15 and 35 storeys offering a mix of one-, two-, three-, four-, five- and six-bedroom student apartments, in addition to 91 one-, two- and three-bedroom BTR units. Amenities include ground floor commercial units, gym, social spaces and cycle storage.
Paul Houghton, director at Downing, said: “Having previously delivered other successful schemes in the area including The Lyra and The Holbrook, both in North Acton, Downing has established a long-standing relationship with OPDC and Ealing planning authorities.
“We are proud of the part we have played in working with the council to shape North Acton to become the place it is today. Our proposals, if approved, will see us deliver our third purpose-built student accommodation development in the area. We pride ourselves on helping to transform places by creating high quality spaces that enhance the local community and bring together the neighbourhood.”
