Family-run jeweller Wongs Jewellers has signed for a new 1,935 sq ft unit at Manchester Arndale on a 10-year lease.
The site will offer an immersive in-store experience and comprise a jewellery bar, photo booth and an open workshop where customers can watch the company’s goldsmiths at work.
Cynthia Cartwright, commercial director at Wongs Jewellers, said: “This new store is such a special milestone for us. We’ve poured so much love into creating an experience that feels truly unique – somewhere people can come to mark life’s biggest moments and feel completely looked after. We’re proud of the five-star reputation we’ve built in Liverpool, and we’re so excited to now bring that Wongs magic to Manchester.”
Peter Wong, managing director at Wongs Jewellers, added: “This is such a proud moment for our family. After so many years building the Wongs name in Liverpool, it’s incredibly exciting to be expanding into Manchester. This store is the next chapter in our story, and we can’t wait to share everything we love about Wongs with a whole new community. It means the world to us to be part of so many people’s most important moments.”
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Wongs Jewellers is a fantastic addition to Manchester Arndale, aligning perfectly with our strategy to curate a diverse and premium retail mix. Their reputation for craftsmanship and customer service will resonate strongly with our shoppers, and we’re delighted to support another independent brand as it grows its presence in the heart of the city.”
Scott Linard, portfolio director at M&G Real Estate, added: “The signing of Wongs Jewellers reflects the continued demand from high-quality retailers for space at Manchester Arndale. Their arrival reinforces Manchester Arndale’s position as the go-to destination for shoppers seeking both established and growing brands, further driving footfall and enhancing the overall retail experience.”
