Galliard Homes and Apsley House Capital are seeking a forward-funding partner for The Trading Post purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Glasgow.

The scheme will deliver 509 student homes – 269 studios and 240 ensuite – in the heart of Glasgow’s East End, adjacent to Merchant City.

The on-site amenity provision at the fully consented scheme will include a cinema, gym, wellness suite and study zones.

The Trading Post forms a key part of the 7.5-acre mixed-use College Gardens urban quarter, which will comprise PBSA, build-to-rent, co-living and new public realm adjacent to the University of Strathclyde.

Jamie Harris, managing partner at Harris Associates, which has been appointed to market the opportunity, said: “We are proud to be launching The Trading Post – a landmark PBSA scheme that combines scale, location and delivery certainty in one of the UK’s most supply-constrained and academically vibrant cities.

“Glasgow’s fundamentals speak for themselves, with a student-to-bed ratio of 3.2 to one and long-term demand supported by major university investment. The Trading Post is uniquely positioned to meet that demand and deliver strong, sustained income growth for institutional capital.”
