Fusion Group has secured planning consent for a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Cardiff.
The Longcross Court development, which is located on Newport Road near the city centre, will deliver 706 beds across 488 units.
The Corstorphine & Wright-designed development, will also offer 750 sq m of amenity space, including a wellbeing studio, juice bar and fitness suite, in addition to landscaped outdoor spaces.
In 2023, Fusion entered into a forward purchase agreement with REIT Picton Property Income to acquire the site – which is currently home to a largely empty commercial building – upon receipt of planning permission.

Construction is expected to start in Q1 2025 and complete in time for the 2028/29 academic year. Fusion’s planning application was supported by planning consultants Pearce Planning.
