Glenhawk said it enjoyed a record month of lending in May, providing £54m of short term finance – a 47% increase on the lender’s previous record month.
The company said it originated 65 new loans with an average size of approximately £1.2m and reported a 34% increase in enquiries in May compared with the previous month.
According to the Association of Short Term Lenders, bridging lenders transacted a record £278.8m in bridging loans during the first quarter of 2023 – a 30% increase on the previous record of £214.7m in Q3 2022.
Guy Harrington, CEO of Glenhawk, said: “This is another major milestone for the business and the incredibly talented team that we have assembled. For real estate investors and owners who continue to recognise real estate’s historically defensive characteristics, we remain the non-bank lender of choice.
“Whilst the backdrop is requiring us to remain highly disciplined in our underwriting, our certainty of funding, increasing breadth of products and depth of broker relationships has seen us buck wider market trends and increase our market share.”
