GO Outdoors has signed for a 21,565 sq ft unit at Manchester Arndale shopping centre.
The company’s new Manchester store will offer 12,000 sq ft of retail space and will provide specialist services including boot and rucksack fitting.
Lee Bagnall, CEO of GO Outdoors, said: “We are extremely excited and proud to be able to expand GO Outdoors into the Manchester Arndale and to return to the city. We are happy to be able to serve customers within the convenience of their new local store, which sits in the city centre. We have had a brilliant couple of years at GO, as more and more people are reaping the benefits of the outdoors for their physical and mental well-being, and this expansion is the outcome of that success.
“We’re looking forward to offering more customers our unbeatable range of outdoor clothing, footwear, and equipment whilst also supporting local communities and high streets. Since its opening in the 1970s, the Manchester Arndale has been a key visiting point for both Mancunians and those visiting the city, and we are thrilled to be joining such a great group of retailers.”
Scott Linard, portfolio manager for M&G Real Estate, added: “GO Outdoors is an exciting brand and a big name in the outdoor clothing and equipment world, so we are thrilled to welcome them to Manchester Arndale. We strive to offer a diverse range of apparel and clothing for our shoppers which we have demonstrated this year by adding a vibrant array of retailers.”
Steve Gray, head of European retail asset management at Global Mutual, said: “Having a strong mix of brands is crucial to our mission of maintaining our status as the North West’s leading retail destination. Our strong mix of retailers helps to attract both high footfall and spend from shoppers across the region. GO Outdoors is an aspirational and established brand which will strengthen our reputation as the go-to shopping destination for the region.”
