Grosvenor has signed Marks & Spencer (M&S) to anchor the South John Street area of its Liverpool ONE retail scheme. The retailer is relocating from its current store on Church Street into a new 100,000 sq ft store across two floors of the former Debenhams.
M&S will open its new store, which will feature a next generation food hall, clothing and home departments, in mid-2023.

M&S is seeking modern space that allows it to deliver an enhanced experience for consumers, who themselves are searching for ever-greater choice and value. By working closely with the M&S team, combining our consumer insight with theirs, we have created what we all believe to be a fantastic new store.”

The M&S deal means the former Debenhams unit is now fully let after the landlord secured an agreement for 100,000 sq ft, split across the building’s upper two floors, with Gravity Active Entertainment earlier this year.
