East London-based Hybrid Planning & Development has bolstered its team with two new hires.

Aleksander Pantazis MRTPI has joined the firm as an associate planner and Nickolai Rutherford has joined as an assistant planner. They will report to associate director Aaron Henecke and will work on a mix of residential, co-living and mixed-use schemes across London, the South East and Midlands.

Danielle St Pierre, director at Hybrid Planning & Development, said: “This year has seen positive growth. We’ve secured work in new locations and increased our repeat business, meaning recruitment was essential. From the outset, our aim was to build a team with a mix of youth and experience, and with these new appointments, we’re confident we now have the right balance and talent to achieve further success.”

Pantazis added: “When I was looking for my next role, it was the variety and quality of projects that Hybrid delivers that really appealed. The fact the firm is award-winning was also compelling; I wanted to benefit from a strong team working culture, where everyone is encouraged to mentor and learn from each other. It’s been a great move.”

Rutherford said: “I liked the range of projects Hybrid has worked on and felt this would help improve my knowledge of the different types of development that planning enables, whether that’s a constrained urban infill site or a scheme in the green belt. I think for anyone considering a career in planning it’s important to understand the many disciplines and roles the industry has. My advice is to read as much as you can, secure work experience, and build and maintain a professional network.”
