Jaynic has submitted a hybrid planning application for Stanton Business Park on the former RAF airfield at Shepherds Grove, near Stanton, Suffolk.
The park sits on a 91-acre site next to the A143 and Jaynic’s proposals to West Suffolk Council comprise a new roundabout and landscaping, an outline application for four additional development plots for commercial and roadside uses and a detailed application for a new regional hub to be occupied by Copart UK, which has agreed to purchase 68-acres at the site, subject to planning.
Andrew Anderson, a director at Jaynic, said: “We are very pleased to be bringing forward the Stanton Business Park planning application for employment uses, which accords with the allocation in the adopted West Suffolk Local Plan.
“As part of the scheme, we will provide an alternative and direct connection to the A143 for the businesses at Shepherds Grove West industrial estate. This will help provide relief to Stanton from the commercial and HGV traffic that currently routes through the village.
“We also look forward to delivering additional employment opportunities via the four sites that will become available for occupiers, which are capable of accommodating buildings of between 17,500–70,000 sq ft.”
Savills and Hazells are marketing agents for the scheme and if Jaynic’s plans are approved work could start on site this summer.
