Specialist retail and leisure consultancy KLM Real Estate has become a certified Carbon Neutral Business.
KLM worked with Carbon Neutral Britain to undertake an audit of all of its business activities and calculate the total amount of CO2 emissions it generated in 2022. It then offset those emissions, via accredited projects across the UK, thus neutralising its carbon footprint for the year.
KLM said it is determined to minimise the firm’s environmental impact in the future and in addition to carbon offsetting it has introduced a range of measures to reduce its carbon footprint and promote sustainable work practises.
In a statement it said: “KLM Real Estate is committed to the principle of equality, and the promotion of inclusivity and diversity throughout the business. Treating each other and the communities within which we work with dignity and respect is fundamental to what we do and is a responsibility we take extremely seriously.
“We are passionate about empowering all members of our team to express themselves and providing a platform for them to develop to their full potential. We are determined to minimise our environmental impact and are proud to be a certified Carbon Neutral Business.
“We recognise that it is an ongoing commitment and in addition to supporting carbon offsetting projects, we have introduced a range of measures to reduce our carbon footprint and promote sustainable work practises. These range from relocating to a B-Corp certified, paper-less office to operating a ‘rail-by-default’ transport policy.”
